Proposals for Pilot Funding for Research Use of Core Facilities are due October 9
The Indiana Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute (CTSI) has opened its grant competition for the Fall Pilot Funding for Research Use of Core Facilities. The submission deadline is Monday, October 9, 2017 and interested faculty can request up to $10,000 of funding in their proposals.

In describing the purpose of the program, Bruce Melancon, CTSI Notre Dame site navigator and research assistant professor of chemistry and biochemistry, said, “This pilot funding program was created to bring awareness to the state-of-the-art technology and specific expertise available through this state-wide collaboration. Whether a researcher’s work could benefit from a CTSI-designated core facility at Notre Dame or on another campus, faculty are encouraged to consider how these resources could be used to enhance their work.”

Jessica Brown, the Clare Boothe Luce Assistant Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry, for her proposal titled, “Characterization of Human METTL16 in Miller-Dieker Syndrome.”
- Richard Dahl, adjunct assistant professor of biological sciences, for his study, “Discovery of Mirn23a/b Dosage Sensitive Pathways in Hematopoietic Stem Cells.”
- Xin Lu, the John M. and Mary Jo Boler Assistant Professor of Biological Sciences, for his project, “Protein Nitration Mechanism of Immunosuppression.”
Now that the Indiana CTSI uses a Web-based Center Administrative Management Program, or WebCAMP, for its grants management system, faculty from Notre Dame are encouraged to contact Melancon before submitting a proposal.
